Heh, thanks.
It's snowing here right now. The temp is hovering around freezing so the flakes are big, fat and fluffy.
The East coast, VA on up is getting hammered. They haven't see snow like this in over 10 years.

wow, sounds cold up there, Susan.  Tho beautiful I imagine.

Another blue sky day here, sunshine, 86 per usual I bet.

My car's A/C stopped working a few days ago, so life not so nice when one has to drive.

But all in all, life good.

all linked to distance, Susan.   :D

they are building two small malls beside me.....300 meter away....there is a big store there already.....and a macdonalds.  KFC and a load of other stores are coming to the new malls....which will be open within months.

If I go an hour up the road, there is a massive mall......I have never seen anything like it.  Absolutley massive.  I still have not been able to get the hang of it and get lost inside.  There is everything there....cinema, ten pin bowling, etc.  You could spend an entire day and evening there.  Ultra modern.

I guess I mentally pictured you being more 'primitive'. I haven't been in a mall or even seen a mall since 2001!
Shoot, our nearest WalMart is 30 miles away and that's too far to bike or walk!

wow, you haven't been in a mall since 2001.

The amount of building all over this country is baffling.  The world is in mid-depression, and Poland just keeps building high rises, malls and skyscrapers.

We were in the city yesterday and we were all saying how strange it is.....every street in the city had new developments going up...and we must have passed at least 4 or 5 new small to massive malls being built (on our way home, along the highway).

And the existing mall that I call home (Albrook Mall) is expanding ever more.  You'd never suspect there was a depression.

Wow, I guess the economy is pretty good there then.

Do you ever plan to go back to Ireland?

yes, I will return.  When it's mid 80s every day, and endless summer there, I will go back.   ;)

I do miss the stunning Irish scenery.

One doesn't appreciate how beautiful it is (one assumes that EVERYWHERE has similar scenery), until one goes abroad.

What do you plan to do with your house in Ireland?

I've learned by travelling around the United States, the scenery is different from state to state. Just Texas alone, east Texas is so different from west Texas.

you've reminded me of a great song Memories of East Texas (by Michelle Shocked).

So what is different about east and west texas?  USA is so big.

Who knows re Ireland.  The climate and lifestyle here suits my clothes and lifestyle (images of Nillson's 'Everybody's Talking')

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Thru' the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Backing off of the North East wind
Sailing on summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone

East Texas is pretty and green, but west Texas is just like an old western movie. Barren, dry, scrub brush, etc. Quite fascinating to actually see.

Great song!
