Bob & Chuck Gauger, ‘Alone Together’

For the first time ever, a compilation of Bob and Chuck Gauger’s recordings. The tracks were recorded by the brothers between 1977 and 2007, in Illinois and California. Here are four great tracks to kick off Bob Gauger’s ‘Light & Dark’ project. Bob explains:

• Folsom Prison was recorded in my dining room on 5- 29-06.

• Turns of Love was written when I was going through a divorce. It was advice to myself. It was also recorded 5-29-06.

• Love Me is a cover of an Elvis song. I recorded it 5-30-06.

• Animal Control is a silly song I wrote a few years ago. I explain it in the song intro.

• Shining Eyes is is a song that I wrote for Leslie after meeting her in January 2004. It really was love at first sight, something I never previously believed in.

NEWLY RECLAIMED FROM THE ARCHIVES

These tracks were discovered in the archives by Chuck. The recordings are almost twenty years old. Chuck has dusted them down and done some restoration.

Chuck has discovered and cleaned up another of Bob’s earlier tracks. Don’t be put off by the track title, it is a fun song…..a parody. The vocal is very good, and the guitar playing excellent.

Bob recorded this great cover on June 19 2006, of Vaughn Monroe’s song Ghost Riders in the Sky

LATEST RECORDINGS
Bob has been very busy recording various great covers in recent days.
He recorded Patsy Cline’s ‘I Fall To Pieces’ on July 2, 2006, “while I was waiting to go to play at the party.”

Bob has also covered two Hank Williams songs - ‘You Win Again’ which was recorded July 8, 2006 and ‘I can’t get you off of my mind’ recorded July 9, 2006.

And he also sent along a great cover of the Beatles song, ‘Tell Me What You See’.
